For those of you wondering what that is, it's the earth's ability to reflect sunlight back into space. Unfortunately this is a temporary fix that will only slow down the process, not cure it. For those who think the globe is not warming, you are so wrong. The numbers are there and they are pretty solid. Alot of environments will see a very slow change, but there are some areas that are seeing significant changes, i.e. Alaska. And to the person who brought up the disruption of the ocean currents, there is no concrete proof that the thermohaline current will be disrupted, but with energy changes in the ocean, this could potentially disrupt that cycle because it requires the exchange of energy to keep moving. Oh, to live in northeastern europe if that were to happen would be the coldest winter you have seen. It is because of this current that milder temperatures reach that far north. What we really need to focus on is channeling carbon back into the earth that was originally stored up in coal or oil. Also, an increase in forest growth would be very beneficial to this as well. Remember, the earth breathes as well. If you look at the numbers for CO2 concentration in the atmosphere fluctuates throughout the year, and this is because of our forests. It's like one giant organism, you take out one element and the system will collapse. Imagine removing the lungs from a human, are they going to survive? No. We need to restructure industry so that it takes in the cost of services nature supplies for us. I'm sorry, but cap and trade is not going to solve that. Well, I could go all day on this but I'm going to stop. If anyone has any specific question, let me know and I will try to answer them as quickly as I can.
break it down into a few major points, about a sentence each. and use some paragraphs
and well a) so what if the earth warms a few degrees b) how do we know that a bit more CO2 in the air did change that c) the CO2 released by humans was once in the atmosphere anyways, we just happen to be moving it around a bit.
earth was hotter back in the time of the dino, but then again, earth has been getting warmer since the last ice age.
what I want to know however, if it's really true that global warming can trigger an ice age tho.
